The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Troop 2 Ayer has been a pillar of the Ayer and Shirley communities since 1926. Our mission, aligned with the Scout Oath and Law, is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices throughout their lives. We meet weekly and embark on several exciting trips and service projects throughout the year.
Service, Honor, and Duty on the Trail to Eagle. Troop 2 believes in a program that:
Emphasizes outdoor experiences and community service.
Provides opportunities for leadership development.
Provides an appreciation of our environment.
Promotes a life exemplifying the Scout Oath and Law.
We emphasize community service as an important way of demonstrating good citizenship. We are very proud of the tradition of excellence that has allowed a high percentage of our Scouts to advance to the rank of Eagle, and we encourage every Scout to work hard to achieve this lofty goal.
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
A Scout is:
Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, & Reverent
